Reclaiming Meaning
My grandmother and my husband Ricard´s grandmother left this world with diffracted understandings of their surroundings. Reclaiming Meaning are experiences I created for myself to reflect on their ways of communicating with the world during the last years of their lives.
My nanny finished her way with Alzheimer’s. I tried to read underwater quotations of “great thinkers” that my mother sent to me while caring for her mother in my childhood home. My earliest connection to an immense body of saltwater occured through my grandmother.

My husband´s grandmother ended her life in a state of Dementia. I walked her wedding dress into the sea and back while carry an antique umbrella of hers. This was a body meditation on loosing sense of objectifiable meaning while still interacting with the beauty of being alive.
